Profile

Sue Ashdown began her writing career after taking evening classes, purely for her own satisfaction, in History and English. She found it challenging and a pleasure to compose analytical and critical essays.

Writing poetry happened quite by chance one evening when walking home from a class. With her mind still buzzing from the stimulating lesson her first poem, Bracken was born, and has since been published in an anthology.

Sue lives on the south coast, in the vibrant town of Hastings, UK. She finds a great deal of inspiration in her surroundings. The sea, that mighty force of nature, draws her like a magnet, and is a never-ending source of valuable stimulation. She would be the first to admit that she is continually learning, and that life itself is her valuable teacher.

Published work appears in anthologies entitled:

Still Life and Body and Soul both by United Press.

Sue's second exhibition of poetry appeared at The White Rock Gallery in Hastings East Sussex on the 18th April for two weeks.
