My Anchor

No one has touched my heart so deep within

Or wrapped themselves around my lonely soul,

For I have shut out all the world and in

Darkness, I've lived a life that's ne'er been whole.

I'm of the ocean; you are of the shore,

You've brought me home when I was set adrift

And with you, my anchor, I drift no more,

For your arms you've offered me as a gift.

You bring me life as though all light were new,

I walk from shadows that your light's diffused

And now that my senses you do imbue,

In glowing ambience I am suffused.

I long have hungered for a life complete;

Now, lying here with you, I am replete.
