My Pebble

For life is but a pebble

Glistening in sea spray

hard and round

My pebble is here to stay

This pebble I cast out in to salty sea,

This pebble,

this pebble ............is me

One day cast along the shore,

Enjoying bright sunlight,

instead of deep sea,

that I once wore

All things come in to warmth and light,

all these pebbles dry and bright

Whilst emotions can be raw,

the sea cleanses them all,

casts them on the seashore

Many pebbles

hidden in salty sea,

one day revealed,

dry and bright,

never to be concealed

As the sea will churn,

it will be my turn,

Wet in salty spray,

or salty deep ,

I will...........return

For the pebble on the shore

Has never gone away,

for the sea cannot keep

these emotions so raw,

salty tears they weep,

listen to the words they say

All things come in to warmth and light,

these pebbles dry and bright

This pebble I cast out in to salty sea,

this pebble, so round,

This pebble,

is me.

Waiting to be found

in salty sea

or dry and bright

in warmth and sunlight
