As He Sleeps

In the shadows of the pale blue light

I gazed upon his half covered face

His chest rises to my contentment

I wanted to taste his lips

Yet I stopped myself

Even in slumber, he is too beautiful

With each word I type

The curve of his relaxed smile

Kills me in a resurrecting way

I yearn for him though he is near

I desire him always

His eyes closed like an angel

He stirs in his dreams

I smiled at what I have

Behold life's greatest gift

I was lost with broken dreams

And yet he found me

I await his sweet awakening
