Never Say Gone

It's the thought

Of that gentle grip

And sweet smile

That tears me in two

I still hear your giggles

Your childish laugh

And then your cries

When I was out of your view

For just a moment

I remember putting my arms

Around you

And scooping you up

Wiping your little brow

Telling you

Everything is all right

Well don't you feel alone

Never alone again

Your journey on this plane

Was not meant to be

But take my love

To guide you on

Just look back on your voyage

And I'll be there

Catch and keep my smile

Like I keep yours

The dark shadows have gone

The shining, the twinkling

Of the light

Is there for you

To follow

And I will help

To guide you

Your journey is not endless

My love is

I only wish

You could have stayed

Long enough to understand

How to say

Goodbye mummy and daddy
