Biography

Personal Website :   before the rains come

I lived most of my early years in a London suburb where I studied, married, and in 1974 moved on to North Wales where I had three children. I now live in Shropshire and began to write about six years ago.

In adulthood I developed epilepsy and that is what first inspired me. Poetry became an escape from living within the confines of a misunderstood illness. Adjustments have had to be made by me and my loved ones and many doors have been closed. I'm often too frightened to step through them but I'm now more able to embrace life and draw inspiration from the world in a broader sense. Much, though not all of what I write, is from personal experience and influenced by family, love, the world and its needs.

In my youth I took up singing. It was my gift and an outlet and I hoped I would follow that calling. Life didn’t turn out as planned but poetry has now become my voice.

I have poems showcased in
